Department of Public Health at Maulana Azad University Jodhpur in academic partnership with Jodhpur School of Public Health (JSPH) is making concerted efforts to ensure that the education and training imparted are at par with the global standards and local needs. Such training is necessary to address the unmet need of subject experts in Public Health as well as in the Healthcare sector.

Given the rising need for trained professionals in the field of public health in recent times due to issues like COVID-19, the importance of courses like MPH has increased many folds. To address this need, JSPH is committed towards producing world-class professionals who are capable to counter the problems associated with public health.

The MPH degree is a two-year program that offers the students an integrated, interdisciplinary strategy to address population and health care needs through instruction, research and service.

It is a demanding, interdisciplinary program emphasizing active, student-directed learning, problem solving and the acquisition of skills essential to the practice of public health.

The curriculum is organized around five core disciplines: Bio-medical aspects of health, epidemiology, social and behavioral aspects of health, health policy and management, and health research. Within these core disciplines, the following are the thrust areas of the program:

  1. Biostatistics and Quantitative Methods
  2. Epidemiology
  3. Health Systems Strengthening
  4. Social and Behavioral Sciences
  5. Healthcare Policy
  6. Bioethics
  7. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
  8. Population and Health

Master of Hospital Administration is a two years interdisciplinary course focusing on Leadership and Management.

The curriculum is designed in such a way that it prepares graduates to effectively take part in the dynamic healthcare industry and mange hospital proficiently. Undergoing this course helps students in acquiring the skills to respond to challenges posed by emerging health issues of 21st century.

Students enhance their skills in the field of Finance, Material, Human Resources, & IT management in hospital settings thereby helping them to manage non-profit, Government or private health care settings globally in most competent and professional way.

BPH: Pass in 10+2 (any Stream) with minimum 50% (45% for “SC/ST/ NonCreamy Layer OBC/SBC/Girls) marks in aggregate from CBSE / State/ Equivalent board)

DPH / DPHN: 10+2 Passed with Science-Biology as a subject.

Ph. D: (Public Health) 50% in Post-Graduation + Entrance + Interview.
