Dr. Nitin Joshi

Dr. Nitin Joshi is working as Assistant Professor at the Jodhpur School of Public Health (JSPH). His research interests include HIV and oral health, tobacco control, cosmetic dental surgery, efficacy and effectiveness of dental procedures and preventive oral health, especially, among children and older people and oral public health. He has completed Bachelor's in Dental Surgery from Government Dental College, Jaipur and MPH from Jodhpur School of Public Health.

Dr. Latika Nath Sinha

Dr. Latika Nath Sinha did her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College (Delhi) in 1996 , followed by Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Safdarjung hospital (Delhi) . She pursued her MD in Community Medicine from Santosh University and her MPH from the National Institute of Epidemiology, Chennai . She had earlier worked in clinical paediatrics and thereafter in projects dedicated to Maternal and Child Health, especially Immunization and Family Planning as well as Communicable and Non-Communicable diseases. She is also a part of various groups and academies dedicated to Public Health. She is faculty for Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is part of many research projects dedicated to Nutrition and Health especially on use of Mobile technology in revolutionizing Health care and Disease Management. She has published several papers in various National and International Public health journals.

Dr. Andrew Pumerantz

Andrew Pumerantz is an executive Director and founder of Western Diabetes Institute at California, USA. Dr. Pumerantz is a peer reviewer for international journals like: Lancet Global Health, International Journal of Nanomedicine, Infection and Drug Resistance, International Journal of General Medicine, Journal of Medical Microbiology. He has been the principal investigator of several interventional researches studies. He has done 2 inventions and has 1 patent in his name granted by Australian Government. He was invited to present his research paper in several national and international conferences and has published around 10 research articles in peer reviewed international journals. Dr. Pumerantz earned his medical degree (DO) from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He trained in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City where he also served as a Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Pumerantz completed infectious diseases fellowship at Yale School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Pumerantz is part of the visiting faculty at JSPH.

Dr. Ann Downer

Ann Downer is Executive Director of International Training and Educational Centre for Health (I-TECH) and Associate Professor at Department of Global Health, University of Washington. Ann Downer has worked as a public health professional in domestic and international settings for more than 35 years. During her 25 years with UW, Dr. Downer has taught courses on mass media in health, educational theory, health promotion planning, and management and leadership. She founded two centers during this time, including the International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) that now employs more than 600 people worldwide and support 11 offices outside the US. I-TECH provides technical assistance to strengthen national healthcare systems and increase human capacity for health. As Executive Director, Ann is responsible for the work carried out by I-TECH in more than 25 countries around the world. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education and a doctoral degree in educational leadership.

Dr. Arvind Mathur

Arvind Mathur is currently working as a Director of Asian Centre for Medical Education, Research & Innovation. He is a visiting faculty at Jodhpur School of Public Health. He was actively engaged in teaching, doing clinical work and research at Dr. S.N. Medical College (Jodhpur) for past 33 years and recently retired as Principal of the college. He served as an inspector for Medical Council of India and is a member of the Technical Resource Group of National AIDS Control Organization and national consultative committees for health care of elderly. He has published more than 50 research papers in national and international journals as well as written several book chapters. He is the visiting faculty of JSPH since its inception.

Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz

Dr. Ferozuddin Feroz is the incumbent Minister for Public Health, Govt. of Afghanistan. Dr. Feroz held various prestigious positions in the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan includes as a technical Deputy Minister of Health from January 2002 to December 2004 and also associated with the World Bank, Afghanistan on various projects.

Dr. Gregory Fant

Gregory Fant is presently working with U.S Department of Veterans Affairs as an Epidemiologist. He has been a civil servant with Federal Government since 1997. He has served the US Federal Government in the Executive Branch Departments of Commerce, Defense, and Health and Human Services. He has also been a visiting faculty at various international universities teaching subjects like Epidemiology, Bio-statistics, Public Health Strengthening, Public Administration, Applied Statistics to name a few. He completed his doctorate (PhD) from University of Nebraska in 1997. He earned two master's degree--in public administration and in the health sciences/public health. He, also, earned a professional certificate in executive leadership from Cornell University. Dr. Fant has earned the Federal Civil Service award, DHHS Hubert H. Humphrey Award for Service to America. He is a professional member of the Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. Dr. Fant earned professional recognition as an epidemiologist from the American College of Epidemiology. Dr. Fant has been part of the visiting faculty at JSPH since 2013.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan

Dr. Harsh Vardhan is the incumbent minister at Ministry of Science and Technology (India) and Ministry of Earth Sciences in the BJP-led NDA government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He earned his medical degree (MBBS) and a Master of Surgery in Otorhinolaryngology from SVM Medical College, Kanpur in 1983.

JVR Prasada Rao

Former Union Health Secretary, Government of India, the Honorable Prasada Rao is the Special Envoy to the Secretary General United Nations on HIV/AIDS for the Asia Pacific region. In this capacity Prasada Rao acts as the representative of the Secretary General to advocate with countries in the region on important policy and strategic issues connected with HIV/AIDS. Hon. Prasada Rao participated as member of important Global Initiatives like the Transitional Working Group (TWG) which decided the operation mechanism for Global for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) and the High Level Forum (HLF) which was set up jointly by World Bank, World Health Organization and bilateral donors for monitoring achievement of health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDG). He also served as a member of the Program Coordinating Board (PCB) of UNAIDS while he was Director NACO. Prasada Rao hails from the State of Andhra Pradesh and had his formal education at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He did his post-graduate studies in nuclear physics and later joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1967. Honorable Prasada Rao has been appointed as the Visiting Professor of Jodhpur School of Public Health and also advisor at JSPH since its inception.

Professor Pramila Vivek

Professor Pramila Vivek was the Head of the Department of JSPH from 2012-2014, and presently she is associated with JSPH as a visiting faculty. She had worked as a Program Director with the Applied Research on Child Health Project at the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID). Her responsibilities included administration and coordination of multiple large-scale, clinical trials and social science research, including the review of all proposals, budgets and contracts. Other tasks involved maintaining close effectual working relationship with sponsors, research coordinators and Principal Investigators, monitoring subcontracts and programmatic budgets and providing technical assistance as deemed necessary. Country experiences include Uganda, Ghana, Zambia and Tanzania, Indonesia, India. Thematic experience include the management of USAID-funded project and its various research portfolios in Drug Use Intervention, Polio, Household and Community-related Health Behavior, Health and Care of Orphans, ARI and Micronutrients research portfolios. In India state experiences include Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Professor Vivek has 20 years of experience in international Public Health and holds graduate degrees from Delhi University, University of Wisconsin, and the Harvard School of Public Health.

Dr. Sourabh Chakraborty

Dr. Sourabh Chakraborty joined Jodhpur School of Public Health as Professor and Head of Department in November 2014. Dr. Charkraborty worked with several international public health organizations including International Training and Education Centre on Health (I-TECH)-affiliated centre of University of Washington, PSI, Pathfinder International, KHPT, Kusuma Foundation and his last stint was with UNDP in New Delhi. The teaching and research interests of Dr. Chakraborty include management of health programs, monitoring and evaluation, inter-linkages between population and health and research methods. Dr. Charkraborty completed his doctorate (PhD) from International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, and has over eleven years of experience in Public Health, Social Research, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Ting Shih

As the founder of ClickMedix, Ting has a decade of experience in designing and launching technology services, along with associated business strategies for major US government, pharmaceutical and global education companies and organizations. Her areas of expertise include technology solution design, sustainable business development, competitive strategy, Lean/Six Sigma process improvement, operations management, and organization change management. She, also, facilitated research publications of various mobile telemedicine studies in medical journals. Ting is the Cartier Women's Initiative Laureate 2012 for North America. She holds an MBA degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management and MS degree in Systems Engineering from MIT. Ms. Shih is an MIT Leaders for Global Operations Fellow and Public Service Fellow. In addition, she earned a BS degree in Computer Science and MS degree in Software Design and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Professor Shih is the faculty of the mHealth course at JSPH since 2013.

Dr. Vibha Joshi

Vibha Joshi is a practicing dentist and public health professional by training--presently working as acting Head of Department and Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health, Lachoo Memorial College. She worked as Lecturer in Jodphur Dental College for 7 years. As a matter of her interest, Dr. Vibha Joshi has been associated with various public health research studies conducted in Jodhpur and sounding area which have explored oral health awareness and related practices specially pertaining to adolescent oral health, tobacco use, oral cancer and fluorosis. She is an accredited tobacco intervention initiative specialist of the Indian Dental Association and is an active, life-time member of Nutrition Society of India. She maintains professional memberships with the Indian Public Health Association and Indian Dental Association. Dr. Vibha Joshi earned the dental degree (BDS) and MPH degree, and she is licensed to practice dentistry. Dr. Vibha Joshi is a visiting faculty member of JSPH.
